Popstar Magazine interviewed best friends Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato in their 2008 August issue. They chatted about their friendship, their upcoming DCOM Princess Protection Program and also about dating.

Popstar asked Demi if she would prefer to date someone in the entertainment business, or not? What was Demi’s response?

“That’s a good question, because there’s been several times where…I think people in the business understand more. But then again, guys in the business can be a little bit too confident, you know? And it’s just like…[groans]. We’ll see. I don’t know. Hopefully, I wanna date, I wanna marry a John Mayer type, really a great musician!”

They also asked her about her relationship with Cody Linley. She said that they did date for awhile and then decided to call things off while she was gone on tour, because she needed to focus. She also says that he will always be very special to her and that he’s a great guy.
